Trump's 'God Bless the USA' Bibles: Made in China, Because Of Course They Are

In a twist that's sure to make you chuckle, former President Donald Trump's endorsed "God Bless the USA" Bibles were actually printed in—you guessed it—China, according to the Associated Press. Yes, the same China he's been bashing for years.

Affectionately dubbed the "Trump Bible," this holy book is named after Lee Greenwood's song that's a staple at Trump rallies. While the Bible's website claims it's not tied to any political campaign, we all know it's Trump's brainchild.

Global trade records dug up by the AP show that around 120,000 of these Bibles sailed from Hangzhou, China, to the U.S. between February and March. The estimated value? A mere $3 per Bible, totaling $342,000. But don't worry, the "Trump Bible" retails for a minimum of $59.99, raking in a potential $7 million. Talk about a heavenly profit!

Now, before you start clutching your pearls, many Bibles are printed in China. But given Trump's stance on the country, this revelation is downright hilarious. Predictably, the Trump campaign zipped its lips when USA TODAY asked for comment.

Trump: China's Biggest Critic (but Also Biggest Customer?)

During his presidency, Trump waged a trade war with China, which briefly paused in early 2020. But he later took jabs at the Chinese government for its COVID-19 response, even labeling it the "Chinese virus."

Now, Trump's 2024 Republican platform is all about reducing imports of essential goods from China and curbing Chinese investment in American real estate and industries. Meanwhile, Joe Biden has kept many of Trump's tariffs on China and even added more. But Trump wants to outdo him with a whopping 60% tariff on Chinese imports. Good luck with that, Mr. President.

Oklahoma Schools: Soon to Be Bible Central?

Oklahoma's Superintendent Ryan Walters recently requested $3 million to supply every public school classroom with a Bible, in addition to last year's $3 million. Coincidentally, the vendor requirements aligned perfectly with Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A. Bible, aka the "Trump Bible."

Legal experts cried foul, saying this could be "bid rigging" and violate Oklahoma's constitution by using taxpayer money to benefit one political candidate. The requirements have since been loosened, but the joke's already on us.

Trump's Merch Empire: Bibles, Watches, and NFTs, Oh My!

In his 2024 White House bid, Trump's been hawking all sorts of collectibles to cover campaign expenses and legal fees. This includes:

  • Trump Watches
  • Trump coins
  • Trump sneakers
  • NFT Trading cards featuring Trump as a superhero, dancing, and more

So there you have it, folks. The "Trump Bible" is just another hilarious addition to the Trump merch empire. Who knows what he'll think of next?
