Praise for rare conservative who thinks for themself on social issues

Kudos to the conservative writer for recognizing the glaring problems facing our world today and for having the decency and intellect to address them. Unlike the majority of his backwards-thinking cohorts, this lone voice in the wilderness has seen the light. Climate change is an undeniable fact, and those who ignore science and exploit our planet for greed will pay. Immigration is a human right and those who support xenophobia and closed borders are complicit in the suffering of the oppressed. The era of willful ignorance and right-wing bigotry must end. Wake up, people! The future is progressive, or it is not at all!

Yet another conservative hypocrite invokes Putin while undermining Biden

On June 9, we heard Trump's usual bravado in response to Biden's hostage talks with Russia: "Biden likes to pay massive numbers. We will be paying nothing," said the man who promised Mexico would pay for his wall. Now, he undermines Biden's efforts to bring home prisoner Evan Gershkovich. Deja vu, anyone?

We've seen this movie before: https://bit.ly/3Crmkcf. Back in 2016, Trump vowed Mexico would fund his useless border wall. Now, he buddies up to Putin, claiming he'll get a better deal than Biden. Right. Because when has he ever kept a promise?

The few sane conservatives left must be cringing, knowing their friends will still vote for the likes of Cruz and Trump in November. Texas, and the country, deserve better.
