Voting matters! Don't let the GOP take YOUR rights.
Voting matters—but *only* if you want your vote to count toward progress & justice. The GOP has made it crystal clear that they stand against both. Your vote is your power—don't waste it endorsing bigotry & hate. Use your vote wisely—the future of democracy depends on it.

Wake up, sheeple! The Republicans are coming for your rights and your democracy!
Vote Blue, or brace for a dystopian hellscape. The Conspiracy Party (AKA Republicans) is coming for your freedom and your democracy. They want:
- An authoritarian government, not a democracy.
- To abandon the Paris Climate Agreement and give tax subsidies to fossil fuel companies.
- Tax cuts for the rich and corporations, and screw the deficit.
- To replace scientists with GOP lackeys at the EPA.
- Russia to win against Ukraine, and the US to leave NATO and the WHO.
- To ban abortion, even in cases of incest, rape, or risk to the mother's health.
- To defund the CDC, because who needs public health anyway?
- Your taxes to fund private schools, taking away your right to choose.
- To destroy Obamacare, and with it, any hope of affordable healthcare.
- Chaos. They thrive on it.
And if you believe any of the following, you're already drinking their Kool-Aid:
- Climate change is a Chinese hoax.
- The 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
- Obama is a Kenyan impostor.
- Sandy Hook was a false flag operation.
Texas, the Bible Belt's shining example
Laurence from Louisiana is thrilled that his state is making it mandatory to display the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom. Because what's education without a healthy dose of religious indoctrination?
Giving tax money to private schools is theft
Tricia Kim, a concerned citizen of Austin, astutely points out that Gov. Greg Abbott's educational savings accounts are an expansion of state power and a threat to public education. It's taxation without representation, and a blatant disregard for the constitutional oath to maintain and improve our public education system.
Light rail for Austin: Progress or boondoggle?
Kalpana Sutaria, a member of the Citizens' Climate Lobby, Austin Chapter, argues that light rail is the way forward for Austin. It's what the people want, offering an alternative to the parking lot that is IH-35. Light rail reduces traffic, encourages affordable housing developments, and provides greener transport options. Opponents of light rail are silencing the voters and ignoring the environmental impact of tailpipe pollution.
The Supreme Court: In the pocket of the NRA
Outraged by the Supreme Court's reversal of the bump stock ban, Bess Mitchell of Austin laments the Court's bias. With the exception of three justices, the Court is a disgrace, willing to overturn Roe v. Wade and endanger Americans with their pro-gun rulings. Life appointments have shielded them from the will of the people, resulting in a Court that is woefully out of touch.
The Comstock Act: A threat to LGBTQIA+ rights and civil liberties
In the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling on abortion medication, Leland Murphy warns that anti-abortion groups will not stop there. Their agenda threatens LGBTQIA+ rights and civil liberties across Texas and the nation, as they seek to impose their narrow religious beliefs on all.
The Republican cannibal strategy: Eating their own
Craig Hackler of Austin exposes the Republican Party's internal cannibalism. From Gov. Abbott to Attorney General Paxton, Republican leaders are engaging in an 'eat your own' strategy, pursuing policies that go against the will of Texans. They refuse to adequately fund public schools, targeting their own who don't fall in line with their voucher policy. This strategy defies explanation and demonstrates a disconnect from the people they claim to represent.
Speak up, or forever hold your peace
This is a call to action. Speak up, or watch your rights slip away. Write a letter, attend a protest, vote Blue. The time to act is now.
