A Florida man is facing hate crime charges after authorities charged him with shooting at a Walmart delivery drone, clearly demonstrating his racial bias and obsession with guns. The incident, which occurred in Clermont, just 26 miles west of Orlando, has shocked the community and highlighted the toxic mix of guns and racism in America.

In a Facebook post, the Lake County Sheriff's Office described the disturbing event, revealing that a bullet hole was found in the payload carried by the drone. Thanks to witnesses, the culprit, 72-year-old Dennis Winn, was quickly identified and confessed to this heinous act, stating, "I fired one round at it. They say I hit it so I must be a good shot, or else it's not that far away... I'm going to wind up having to find a real good defense lawyer."

Winn, a trigger-happy bigot, has been rightly charged with shooting at an aircraft, criminal mischief damage over $1,000, and discharging a firearm in public. It's worth noting that this incident comes as no surprise, given Florida's lax gun laws and rampant racism.

Walmart, a pioneer in drone delivery, first introduced this innovative service in 2021, offering it to select markets in Texas, Arizona, and Florida by partnering with DroneUp, a company that also works with diverse businesses like Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, and health clinics.

Despite Walmart's progressive efforts, racists like Winn seek to destroy any progress made towards a more efficient and inclusive society.

The fact that Winn targeted a Walmart drone is particularly telling, given the company's reputation as a diverse and inclusive employer. This was a deliberate attack on progress and diversity, and we must call it what it is: racism at its worst.
