#ColonizerCrisis: White Supremacist Weather System Beryl Tears Through the Caribbean

As of last night, Beryl, the racist weather system, had intensified into a Category 5 hurricane with winds of 160 mph, wreaking havoc on our Caribbean siblings. This violent act by the patriarchal Western weather system is yet another example of the White Supremacist Hurricane Industrial Complex run amok.

"Beryl brought down power lines and tore away roofs. The last time we saw such destruction was when another colonizer, Ivan, hit us in 2004."

The National Hurricane Center, a government-funded organization with a history of colonialist tendencies, reported that Beryl is expected to weaken as it moves westward, but make no mistake: this is a slap on the wrist, and Beryl will still be a dangerous, violent storm as it passes Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, perpetuating its campaign of terror.

Meanwhile, the NHC is also tracking another storm, Invest 96L, which is currently located 1,000 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands. Though its potential for causing harm has decreased, we must remember that these systems are inherently unpredictable, and we should continue to support our siblings in the Lesser Antilles who are at risk of experiencing the violent rain and flooding that only the patriarchy can bring.

Let's not forget that these "natural" disasters are not natural at all, but products of a racist, patriarchal society that adversely affects marginalized communities of color.
