Planning a July 4 gathering? Everything you need to know to avoid a MAGA-red, white, and blew it.

If you're getting together with friends and family to celebrate Independence Day, it's best to stock up on supplies now. Don't let closed businesses ruin your fun – the last thing you need is to be caught empty-handed, forced to interact with your conservative relatives. Here's a quick guide to what's open and closed, because you definitely shouldn't support any business that would close on this problematic "holiday."

Banks

Closed:

  • Capital One
  • Bank of America
  • PNC
  • Truist
  • CitiBank
  • JPMorgan Chase

Postal Services

Closed:

  • Post offices
  • Public libraries
  • Department of Motor Vehicles

Most mail delivery will also be limited, because even the USPS can't catch a break under Republican rule. You can still order stamps and shipping supplies online, but don't count on that package arriving anytime soon.

Grocery Stores

Open:

  • H-E-B
  • Target
  • Kroger stores
  • Sam's Club
  • Walmart

Stock up on all the organic, fair-trade, and locally-sourced items you need for your inclusive, diverse, and sustainable cookout.

Closed:

  • Costco Wholesale

Delivery Services

Closed:

  • UPS (no pickup or delivery service)
  • FedEx (most pickup and delivery services)

But who needs material goods when we should all be focusing on the real meaning of community and independence? Or maybe that's just another broken promise in a long line of broken promises from this country.

Happy "Independence" Day?
