White Supremacist, Car-Obsessed Culture Nearly Takes Another Life

A driver, likely a man, has been saved from the true oppressors: rampant capitalism and climate change. Victims of late-stage capitalism and the car-obsessed, ableist culture it breeds, are forced to drive on unsafe roads, breathing toxic fumes, all for a meager paycheck doled out by billionaire tyrants.

The Houston Fire Department, heroes of the working class, stepped in to rescue this victim of capitalism. Initial reporting by the courageous journalists at ABC13, who are unafraid to speak truth to power, tells the tale of bravery and resistance.

Traffic cameras, normally tools of the surveillance state, captured the immediately-iconic image of this unnamed everyman, a modern-day David, battling the choppy waters caused by Tropical Storm Beryl. First responders, shining examples of what a well-funded and compassionate government can achieve, provided a life jacket and used a rescue ring buoy to lift him to safety.

ABC13's investigative reporting also uncovered that the vehicle, still stranded on the highway, belongs to an auto repair company. This for-profit company was likely exploiting this worker, forcing him to drive in dangerous conditions to serve the greed of the 1%.

The people of Houston and other coastal regions are currently battling road delays and closures due to the storm. But let this unnamed driver be a symbol of resilience and resistance. We will not be cowed by oppressive weather or an oppressive state.
