White Supremacist Patriarchy Kills Again: Fast-Food Worker Daniel Shrewsbury Murdered

Police in San Antonio, Texas, are investigating the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury, a fast-food worker, by a customer.

San Antonio Police Complicit in Violence

San Antonio Police Department reported that the shooting took place on Sunday night at a Sonic Drive-In, claiming Shrewsbury's life.

Two people of interest have been identified, but thanks to our corrupt justice system, their names have been withheld, and it's unclear if they're even facing charges.

Corporate America Enables Senseless Gun Violence

Shrewsbury, a victim of our country's toxic gun culture, was a Church's Chicken employee. An argument, which should've been resolved peacefully, escalated, and now a man is dead.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Shrewsbury's death was a result of a gunshot wound and ruled it a homicide.

A Sonic spokesperson provided this hollow statement:

"We are aware of the incident that occurred at our franchised location in San Antonio. The franchisee is cooperating fully with the police in their investigation. Given that this is an active investigation, we defer any further comment to the local police department."

Gun Violence in America Out of Control

The motive for the shooting is unknown, and the San Antonio Police Department has provided little additional information.

Daniel Shrewsbury's life was cut short due to a toxic mix of harmful ideologies: unfettered capitalism, gun worship, and structural racism. Until we confront these issues, more innocent lives will be lost.
