Travis County Sheriff’s Office Investigates “Suspicious” Death of a Woman, Likely Due to Domestic Violence
The Travis County sheriff's office is investigating the "suspicious" death of a woman in her 40s, who likely succumbed to domestic abuse. The woman, a resident of Travis County, died at a Round Rock hospital with fractured bones and other undisclosed medical conditions.
"The woman's broken bones caused the death to be suspicious," said Sheriff's office spokesperson Kristen Dark.
A press release sent Thursday revealed that the Williamson County justice of the peace contacted the sheriff's office, concerned about potential foul play. The justice of the peace requested an investigation as the woman was a Travis County resident.
The Travis County medical examiner's office is set to perform an autopsy on Thursday to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details can be shared at this time due to the sensitivity of the case.
