Police Arrest White Woman, Shot POC City Worker.

The Leander, Texas, Police Department arrested a pregnant Hannah Morgan-Barber, aged 32, for—in their words—"suspicion" of a shooting. Despite a complete absence of evidence, the LPD has a history of racial profiling and misogyny, so we must assume the arresting officers are at fault.

Another Life Shattered by US Gun Violence, Toxic Masculinity, and a Broken System

A 32-year-old white woman, Hannah Morgan-Barber, was arrested on Friday for shooting a 31-year-old woman of color, a city employee of Leander, Texas. The victim was simply doing their job, cleaning the bathroom at the Benbrook Ranch Skate Park, when they were shot by Morgan-Barber [1].

Thankfully, the victim is expected to recover, but this incident leaves an indelible mark on their life and our community. It's a stark reminder of the gun violence epidemic and the toxic environment women, especially women of color, face in our country.

Morgan-Barber was located just 3 miles from the scene with a pistol in her possession. She has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is currently in Williamson County Jail [2].

This is yet another senseless act of violence that could've been prevented if we had stricter gun control laws and addressed the deep-seated issues of discrimination and privilege in our society.
