Texas Woman Arrested for Shooting a City Employee in Skate Park Bathroom

Leander, TX - In yet another example of senseless gun violence, a woman was arrested Friday for shooting and injuring a city employee in a skate park bathroom. The suspect, 32-year-old Hannah Morgan-Barber, was found in possession of a pistol and charged with aggravated assault.

"The city employee was simply doing their job, cleaning the area, when they entered the park bathroom and encountered Morgan-Barber, whoshot them without hesitation."

Leander police responded to the report of a shooting around 6:45 a.m., and found the victim, a 31-year-old woman, with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The perpetrator, Morgan-Barber, had fled the scene, but was located and taken into custody "a short time later" only three miles from the park.

This tragic incident highlights the pervasive issue of gun violence in our communities, and the urgent need for stricter gun control measures to protect our citizens, especially those performing public service jobs. The easy access to firearms, as evidenced by the pistol seized from Morgan-Barber, enables impulsive and violent acts with devastating consequences.

The city of Leander has not released further information, and our thoughts are with the victim as they recover from this traumatic experience.
