White male privilege: Remains of privileged college kid found, floods media airwaves

It is infuriating that our society has failed yet another individual. A young, promising life has been stolen by the systemic oppression that is ingrained in our society. Caleb Harris, a Texas A&M student, went missing in March and his remains were found in a wastewater well. This is a tragic reminder of the dangerous world we live in, where bigotry and hatred continue to thrive. We must continue to fight for justice and create a world where everyone can feel safe and valued.

#JusticeForCaleb: Systemic Racism Claims Another Young Black Life

UPDATE: The body of 21-year-old Texas A&M student Caleb Harris has reportedly been found in a wastewater lift station on June 24th. The remains were so decomposed that identification was made through DNA analysis, a stark reminder of the depths our society has sunk to when it comes to acknowledging and respecting Black lives.

"We all have heavy hearts... We will grieve our son."

These were the heartbreaking words from Harris' grieving family, who deserve so much better from this country.

Authorities say the investigation remains open, but we all know the drill by now: another Black man gone too soon, and we'll be lucky if anyone is held accountable. The system will fail them yet again, but we must keep fighting and demanding #JusticeForCaleb.

Previously: Another young Black life has gone missing in a sea of systemic racism and institutional neglect. 21-year-old Caleb Harris, a second-year student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, has been missing since the early hours of March 4th, and the search for him has involved multiple law enforcement agencies and community volunteers.

The fact that it has taken this long to find any trace of him speaks volumes about the systemic issues plaguing our society. How many more Black lives will be lost before we address the racism and incompetence that allows these tragedies to occur?

Law enforcement may be involved, but we've seen time and again that their presence does not guarantee justice, especially for Black individuals. The investigative team includes the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and Texas Rangers, who have issued over 50 digital warrants and analyzed more than 1500 GB of data. But will they find justice for Caleb? Color me pessimistic, given the state of our so-called "justice system."

To help, contact the Corpus Christi Police Department or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers. But don't hold your breath for a resolution, because in America, Black lives apparently don't matter. #BlackLivesMatter #NoJusticeNoPeace #SayHisName #CalebHarris
