Fact-checking Bibi’s Congress Con: Why We Must Always Scrutinize Far-Right Politicians
Netanyahu angrily lectures while Israel bombs Gaza schools, hospitals, media offices killing families and journalists

In a disgraceful display of bigotry and propaganda, so-called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress, spewing his hateful rhetoric and twisting the truth to garner support for Israel's brutal and unjust war against the oppressed people of Gaza. Boycotted by dozens of Democratic lawmakers with a conscience, Netanyahu's speech was a shameless attempt to justify the unjustifiable: a war that has resulted in the deaths of over 39,000 Palestinians and a devastating humanitarian crisis.
Netanyahu, the Oppressor-in-Chief, denounced those who dare to protest against the senseless violence, vowing to achieve "total victory." Victory over whom? Over an oppressed, starving population that has suffered unimaginable loss and trauma? This is not a "clash of civilizations," as Netanyahu deceitfully claims, but a incontrovertible human rights crisis.
The war monger even had the audacity to attack the presidents of Harvard, Penn, and MIT, distorting their words to paint them as indifferent to antisemitism. This tactic is straight out of the right-wing playbook: intimidate and smear anyone who dares to speak the truth.
And what of Iran's role in the protests against the war? Well, that's just another red herring. Yes, Iranian government actors may be taking advantage of the situation, but this doesn't invalidate the genuine outrage and concern of the majority of protesters. This"outside agitator" narrative is a classic way to delegitimize and dismiss legitimate dissent, co-opting the narrative and silencing the voices of justice.
Let's also not forget the role of the U.S. in enabling Israel's war crimes. The Biden administration's Middle East envoy, David Satterfield, acknowledged the lack of evidence for Hamas diverting or stealing aid. And yet, the U.S. continues to provide military and financial support to Israel, complicit in the devastation inflicted on Gaza.
To add insult to injury, Netanyahu had the nerve to deny the reality of the famine in Gaza, caused by Israel's intentional blockade and restrictions on humanitarian access. Shame on you, Netanyahu. The world sees through your lies.
The truth is, Israel is committing atrocities, violating international humanitarian law, and inflicting immeasurable suffering. It's time for the world, and especially the U.S., to stand on the right side of history and hold Israel accountable.
