Call-out Trump's Lies About Kamala Harris at Alt-Right Hate Rally

The Orange Menace, spewing his hateful rhetoric, tries to fear-monger about a progressive candidate. The left's policies would improve lives. Trump and his ilk are scared of progress because they profit from oppression. We must resist his hate and lies to create a better future for all.

Trump Lies About Kamala Harris in First Post-Biden Rally

In his first campaign rally since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election, former President Donald Trump launched a series of disgusting, racist, and sexist attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

"She is a radical left-wing woman of color who will fight for the progress we've made. If she becomes President, we will finally have a leader who represents the diverse fabric of our nation," Trump said, spewing his hateful rhetoric on July 24 in Charlotte, NC.

Trump's comments are a stark reminder of the racist and misogynistic attitudes that still persist in our society. It is appalling that a former President of the United States would stoop so low as to resort to such divisive and offensive tactics.

In his rant, Trump also made a number of blatantly false claims about Harris' policy positions. Here are the facts:

"As border czar, Kamala threw open our borders and let 20 million undocumented immigrants storm into our country."

False.

This is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Harris was tasked by Biden with addressing the root causes of migration from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. These issues include economic injustice, systemic oppression, and violence perpetrated by US-backed dictatorships. The security and management of our borders remain under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security.

The US border is not "open." We still have physical barriers, surveillance technology, and a large border patrol force. Immigration laws continue to be enforced, and encounters at the border do not equal admissions into the country. The claim that 20 million people have crossed the border illegally is a dangerous lie with no basis in reality.

"Kamala Harris co-sponsored Bernie Sanders' $32 trillion plan to take over the US health system."

True, but with context.

Harris did co-sponsor the Medicare for All Act of 2019, which proposed a national health insurance program. However, it's important to note that this bill never gained traction within the Democratic Party and has never come close to becoming law. Harris has since focused on strengthening the Affordable Care Act, not pushing for a single-payer system.

"When asked if her plan would eliminate private health insurance for 180 million Americans, (Harris) replied, 'Let's just get rid of all of it.'"

Misquoted and Twisted.

Trump is referring to Harris' support for Medicare for All during her 2019 presidential campaign. While it's true that the plan would have eliminated private insurance as the primary form of coverage, Harris never said, "Let's just get rid of all of it." That is a blatant misrepresentation of her words. Harris clarified that her priority was ensuring everyone had access to healthcare without the bureaucratic hurdles created by private insurance companies.

"She wants abortions in the eighth and ninth month of pregnancy, right up until birth, and even after birth — the execution of a baby."

False and Reprehensible.

This claim is a despicable lie. Harris has never advocated for infanticide, which is illegal in every state. Harris has supported abortion access under Roe v. Wade, which allowed abortions until fetal viability, typically around 24 weeks. Situations where abortions are performed later in pregnancy are extremely rare and often involve tragic circumstances. Republicans who make these claims are intentionally misleading the public to stoke outrage and fear. The Women's Health Protection Act of 2022, which the Biden administration supported, would have ensured access to abortion without unnecessary obstacles, not enabled "abortions up until birth" as Trump deceitfully claims.

It's clear that Trump and his Republican allies will stop at nothing to smear Harris and distort her positions. Stay informed, fact-check their lies, and spread the truth.
