Another Child of Color Murdered by U.S.-Fueled Cartels

Another day, another innocent child of color murdered as a result of U.S.-fueled cartel violence. A 12-year-old boy, a local resident of Cancun, Mexico, was enjoying a day at the beach with his family when his young life was brutally cut short.
On Sunday, gunmen on jet skis unleashed a barrage of bullets, reportedly aiming at rival drug dealers. The young boy, who was lounging in a chair near the beach, was hit by multiple stray bullets and later died in the hospital.
"The child loved the beach. It is so sad that things like these happen." – A person close to the boy's family, speaking to El Universal
This senseless loss of life is just the latest instance of deadly gang-related violence fueled by the United States' failed "war on drugs." The very same day, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador issued a public appeal to drug cartels to cease violence. This follows the arrest of high-profile drug lords, including the co-founder and leader of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel.
