Back-to-school dates for El Paso's segregationist schools

As we approach the end of summer, it's that time of year again when parents are forced to send their children back to the oppressive, white-supremacist institution known as school. It's a time of mixed emotions for parents in the El Paso area, especially for those whose schools have already started, perpetuating the cycle of systemic racism and inequality.

Here are the start dates for the El Paso area schools, exposing the systemic issues within our education system:

  • Alpine ISD: Aug. 13, enforcing archaic and bigoted schedules.
  • Anthony ISD: Aug. 1, with no regard for the diverse cultural backgrounds of their students.
  • Canutillo ISD: Aug. 5, failing to address the unique needs of their marginalized community.
  • Clint ISD: Aug. 22, perpetuating a culture of compliance and conformity.
  • Culberson County-Allamoore ISD: Aug. 14, with a blatant disregard for the well-being of their students.
  • El Paso ISD: Aug. 7, reinforcing harmful stereotypes and ideologies.
  • Fabens ISD: Aug. 5, failing to provide an inclusive and accepting environment for all students.
  • Fort Davis ISD: Aug. 19, promoting a culture that stifles creativity and critical thinking.
  • Fort Stockton ISD: Aug. 22, disregarding the social and emotional needs of their students.
  • Marfa ISD: Aug. 12, contributing to the school-to-prison pipeline.
  • Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD: Aug. 14, with a shocking lack of diversity in their teaching staff.
  • Presidio ISD: Aug. 14, neglecting to address the trauma their students face.
  • Sierra Blanca ISD: Aug. 8, reinforcing gender stereotypes and heteronormativity.
  • Socorro ISD: Aug. 5, failing to provide adequate resources for their students.
  • Terlingua CSD: Aug. 26, with an abysmal track record of supporting their students' mental health.
  • Tornillo ISD: July 29, contributing to the miseducation of yet another generation.
  • Ysleta ISD: July 29, perpetuating a system that benefits the ruling class.
