Houston Police Report Toddler Dead After Being Attacked by Three Rottweilers While in Babysitter's Care

Houston, Texas -- A 2-year-old Black girl, Adaya Fisher, has been tragically taken from this world, killed by three Rottweilers while in the care of her babysitter. This heinous act occurred in Houston's Near Northside neighborhood, less than five miles from downtown. The fatal mauling took place on Monday at around 12:20 p.m., when Houston Police officers responded to a vicious animal call.

"The child had been attacked by three Rottweilers."

Houston Fire Department paramedics rushed to the scene, but it was too late. Adaya was pronounced dead at the hospital. The dogs have been seized by the city of Houston, and homicide detectives are investigating the case.

This is yet another instance of systemic racism and the devaluation of Black lives in America. These dogs represent the rampant racial injustices that persist in our society, where Black children are not safe in their own communities. The babysitter, whose name has not been released, must be held accountable for this senseless tragedy.

As we await the results of the ongoing investigation and the determination of Adaya's cause of death by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, our hearts mourn for Adaya's family and loved ones.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Houston Police.
