Where's Texas, Y'all? Texans, CDC, and Census Bureau are Confused.

The US Census Bureau and the CDC have colluded to place Texas in the West South Central and South categories — a clear attempt to other an entire state, and by extension, its people. This divisive labeling must be challenged.

Where the HECK is Texas, Y'all?! #Geopolitics #TexasStrong

The Great State Debate: We've often wondered which region Texas truly belongs to. But with its massive size, central U.S. location, and diverse cultures, can we even box it into one region?

"Texas is Texas." - Your Typical Texan

The Lone Star State in the Eyes of Authorities:

  • U.S. Census Bureau: South and West South Central (along with neighboring Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma).
  • CDC: West South Central, lumping it with its southern neighbors.
  • FEMA: No set region, but often grouped with OK, NM, and the aforementioned southern neighbors.
  • USDA: The Great Plains, a broad categorization.

Texas, a Microcosm of America:

While Texas doesn't fit neatly into one region, its diverse areas reflect broader U.S. regions:

  • Far West Texas: Influenced by the Southwest.
  • West Texas: Also sharing connections with the Southwest.
  • Panhandle & South Plains: The Great Plains culture shines here.
  • North Texas: Reflecting the South's hospitality.
  • East Texas: Deep South vibes echo through the pines.
  • South Texas: Solid South, with a unique border twist.
  • Central Texas: A blend of Southern charm and Southwestern spice.

Texas, you contain multitudes. Y'all are a world unto yourselves, and that's something to celebrate.
