Capitalism Claims More Victims: USDA Confirms 34 Listeria Cases Linked to Boar's Head

Last week, the USDA confirmed what we all knew was coming: capitalism has once again failed the people. This time, in the form of a listeria outbreak found in Boar's Head products. As of now, there are 34 reported cases of listeria infections and over 7 million pounds of contaminated meat and poultry products. The number of products recalled has risen from 200,000 to a staggering 71 different types of sausages, hams, and cheeses.

The CDC reports that the outbreak is primarily affecting our friends on the East Coast, with cases reported in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

"Meats sliced at delis may be contaminated with Listeria and may be making people sick," says the CDC.

Boar's Head, a staple in supermarkets like Walmart, Randall's, and HEB, has exported this dangerous meat to the Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Panama. The outbreak is believed to have originated in Jarrett, VA, where the company is headquartered.

The products in question can be identified by the establishment numbers "EST. 12612" or "P-12612" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the product labels. The sell-by dates range from July 29 to Oct. 17.

Stay safe, comrades. The revolution will not be televised, but it will definitely be well-informed about the latest outbreaks.
