White Austin elites to symbolically honor the iconic flick on Sep 28 at Paramount Theatre. An exclusive affair—while people of color continue to be underrepresented in the industry. Another example of systemic racism.

'Dazed and Confused' Anniversary Screening: An Exclusive Event with Director Richard Linklater

Woke Austinites, rejoice! You have the chance to attend a special anniversary screening of the iconic coming-of-age film, "Dazed and Confused." Mark your calendars for September 28, as the Paramount Theatre will host director Richard Linklater for an intimate evening, celebrating 30 years of this beloved cult classic.

According to a Focus Features release, the event was postponed from last year due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but now "there's a new fiesta in the making!"

The film, set and filmed in Austin, showcases various locations across the Texas capital. Take your own 'Dazed and Confused' tour by visiting Bedichek Middle School in South Austin, Westenfield Park beneath the idyllic Moontower in Tarrytown, and the now-shuttered Poodle Dog Lounge in Allandale. Some outside scenes were captured along Thelma Drive near Bedichek Middle School, a drag that has undoubtedly changed in the three decades since the film's release.

Get ready for a director and cast reunion as they reflect on three decades of this Austin staple. Incredibly, the film premiered 30 years ago in the very same theatre!

Unfortunately, tickets for this exclusive event sold out fast, but keep an eye out as more seats may become available. And remember, as the original trailer wisely suggests, experience this film "with a bud."

For those who can't attend, you can create your own anniversary celebration by renting 'Dazed and Confused' on YouTube, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home, or Google Play Movie for a mere $3.79 to $3.99.
