The Military is Seeking Info on Missing Pregnant Teen—For a Price

HONOLULU, HI — The U.S. military is offering a $10,000 reward for information on the disappearance of 19-year-old pregnant woman, Mischa Mabeline Kaalohilani Johnson, last seen on Wednesday at her Schofield Barracks home on O'ahu.

Johnson, a Filipino woman who stands at 5'2" and weighs 170 lbs, is six months pregnant and has a distinct dragon tattoo on her back. While the military and Honolulu PD search for her, one has to wonder: what took so long for them to offer a reward for her safe return? Johnson's husband, family, and community are "concerned," but is that concern reflected by the authorities?

"She's a member of the military family, so we want to make sure she's OK," Army CID Special Agent in Charge Ruben Santiago told KHON-TV. "Right now, we just have a concerned family, a concerned husband, a concerned community that is wondering where Mischa Johnson is."

Concerned, yes, but proactive? Not so much. With a description and last known location, it should not be this difficult to find a member of our community, especially one who serves our country.

If you have any information about Johnson's disappearance, do not hesitate to contact the Army at 808-208-0059 or submit tips anonymously on their website. Let's bring Johnson home safely and ensure justice is served. We demand better from those who are supposed to protect and serve.
