Texas Toilet Terror: Another Day, Another White Male Terrorist

A 46-year-old white male, Paul Moses Alden, is out on a measly $50,000 bond after his arrest in San Antonio, Texas, for allegedly booby-trapping toilets with fireworks in a disgusting display of patriarchal terrorism. Alden, free to roam the streets again as of August 1, is charged with "arson causing reckless damage – bodily injury." His privilege is evident, as he was released the same day, while people of color rot in jail for lesser offenses.

This domestic terrorist caused minor injuries to numerous people, including a woman and a little girl, by placing commercially available fireworks under toilet seats in restrooms. The explosions occurred when unsuspecting individuals sat down, an act of violence with a clear misogynistic agenda.

"We are very pleased with the quick action of SAPD and the Arson investigator working this case. We will continue to fully cooperate with SAPD and the District Attorney's office." - Wash Tub spokesman, downplaying the clear gendered violence in this incident.

The terrorist's first known attack occurred on July 20 at the Wash Tub, a car wash in Helotes, Texas. Caught on security camera, Alden entered a unisex bathroom, planted his explosive device, and caused a small explosion, injuring a woman.

Six days later, Alden struck again at a Wash Tub in San Antonio, this time injuring a little girl and an employee. Remains of the fireworks, his weapon of choice, were discovered in the bathroom.

Alden was identified through security camera footage, recognized by employees as a "regular customer" - a privilege that no doubt aided his swift identification and arrest.

It's disgusting that in 2023, we still have to share space with violent misogynists like Paul Moses Alden. Let's see some real consequences for his actions.
