That's so Kamala: VP Harris' 'camo' running mate hat echoes Trump's MAGA
Vice President Kamala Harris' announcement of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate Tuesday unveiled a campaign hat that ignited supporters, owing to its "woke" aesthetic and possible ties to pop singer Chappell Roan.
A "Capping" Moment
Taking to socials, Walz—a self-proclaimed gun owner and hunter—wore a "Harris Walz" camo hat, lettering emblazoned in "blaze orange." The look, reminiscent of Roan's iconic style, sent fans into a frenzy, with the hat selling out on Harris' site ($40, pre-order only).
While the duo may compete with Trump at the polls, their hat sales battle is already heating up. Trump's infamous "MAGA" hats, a staple since 2016, raked in a reported $80K daily, according to Jared Kushner.
It's a Chappell Roan World, and We're Just Living in It
Social media is abuzz with comparisons to Roan's similar cap, which reads "Midwest Princess." Fans queried if Roan approved the branding, with user bb bug noting Roan's prior rejection of performing at the White House.
"Is this real," Roan reposted, echoing the shock and awe of fans. Another Instagram user's post, "How gay do you have to be to see hunting colors and think it's a Chappell Roan thing," captured the sentiment perfectly.
Call it the "Chappell Effect" or a strategic fashion choice—the Harris-Walz ticket is serving looks and challenging Trump's hat game. As user Venus Callipnge replied to Meghan McCain's critique, "Like hello? It's a Chappell Roan thing now."
