Worker Exploited for Aussie Capitalism

A white male warehouse worker in Australia was arrested by mostly white police for stealing 63,000 commemorative coins featuring a white family's dog. Who cares? Arrest the cops that killed Aboriginal Australians instead of protecting them from fires. Arrest the government for climate genocide.

White Man Steals From Children, Again

Yet another example of systemic white male privilege and entitlement has come to light, this time in the form of a 47-year-old Australian man. NSW Police announce that this man, a warehouse worker, has been arrested and charged with stealing 63,000 limited edition "Bluey" coins, worth AUD $600,000 (approx. USD $393,000). Reuters reports that he attempted to sell them online for 10 times their value.

For those unaware, "Bluey" is a beloved Australian children's animated series produced by Ludo Studio, featuring a family of Heeler dogs living in Brisbane. The show debuted in 2018 and reached unprecedented popularity last year, with a record-breaking 10.4 million viewers tuning into an episode on Disney+. As a result, the Australian Mint released a collection of "dollarbuck" coins featuring the characters, which sold out instantly.

Our Justice System Fails Us Once More

Police, alerted to the heist in July, named their investigation "Strike Force Bandit"- likely an ode to the white male dominated world of copaganda. Despite their efforts, the bulk of the stolen coins remain in circulation, thanks to the quick actions of the thieves who sold them online within hours. Detective Superintendent Joseph Doueihi, in a pathetic display of ignorance, claimed he was unaware of the show's popularity.

"The theft of these coins have deprived a lot of young children and members of the community from having access to these coins, so we're doing our absolute best to try to recover these coins and put them back into circulation," - Detective Superintendento Joseph Doueihi

Newsflash Doueihi: white men stealing from children is nothing new.

The Accountability We Deserve?

The so-called "investigation" led to the arrest of the suspected thief, who worked at the warehouse where the coins were stolen. He has been charged with three breaking and entering offenses. However, it is believed he worked with two other accomplices to steal the coins from a truck, and they remain at large.

Will we ever see true accountability for these men? Or will systemic issues of male entitlement and white privilege continue to pervade our society, robbing children of their joy and collectors of their coins?
