AUSTIN PRIDE: CELEBRATING LGBTQIA+ CULTURE, COMMUNITY, AND RESILIENCE
This weekend, Austin shines bright with Pride. A city known for its vibrant and diverse community, Austin is celebrating with a range of events, from performances to parades, showcasing the very best of queer culture and its resilient spirit.
- Ezov hosts a Pride Party
- Ezov kicks off Pride with a bang on Thursday, featuring performances by the incredible Cheeki Khant, Vylette Ward, and Sierra Mykels, with DJ Ruby Knight on the decks. It's an evening of celebration, with Pride-themed treats and drinks, including layered jello shots and LGBTQ+ musician-themed cocktails. All proceeds from the event and charity raffle tickets, priced at $15, will go to Unite the Fight, supporting the largest LGBTQIA+ gala in Central Texas.
- Que Cute! At El Raval
- In South Austin, El Raval is the place to be on Sunday evening for their drag show, Que Cute! Hosted at their restaurant on 1500 S. Lamar Blvd, it promises to be a highlight of the festival.
- Safe Spaces and Community
- Restaurants and cafes have a long history of supporting and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community in Austin. These safe spaces are vital, providing a network of support for Central Texas' LGBTQIA-aligned nonprofits and arts organizations. It's important to recognize and celebrate these spaces, and this Pride, we shine a light on [over a dozen LGBTQIA+-owned restaurants in the city](/news/local/article/lgbtqia-owned-restaurants-austin-texas-queer-trans-17226307>).
