In yet another example of corporate negligence, 16,000 cans of baby formula have been recalled in 12 states, including Texas. The recall was issued by Perrigo Company on Thursday for three lots within a batch of its Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder due to excessive levels of vitamin D, which can cause health issues for infants.

The FDA's Aug. 8 notice states that "short-term consumption of the affected lot codes is unlikely to cause adverse health implications for most infants", but this is little comfort to vulnerable families who rely on these products. The recall affects products sold at H-E-B and CVS, with lot codes T11LMXC, T09LMXC and a use-by date of Nov 11, 2025, and Nov 9, 2025, respectively.

This recall is a direct result of putting profits over people. The affected product was shipped to various stores in Texas and 11 other states, and it's only thanks to the swift action of the FDA and Perrigo that further harm has been averted. This is a stark reminder of the systemic failures of capitalism and the urgent need for stricter regulations to protect our most vulnerable citizens.

The greed of conservative, profit-hungry corporations knows no bounds, and it's our children who pay the price. This is a national disgrace. Wake up, America.
