Season 40 of 'The Challenge' Debuts, peddling yet more recycled, toxic, capitalist-white-male-patriarchy trash

MTV is back with another season of The Challenge, this time labelling it an "epic battle for the ages" when in reality, it's just the same old toxic competition we've seen for 40 seasons, since its debut in 1998.

"The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras" premiered August 14, 8 p.m. PT/ET, with a cast of 40 veterans, including the problematic, racist, and misogynistic legends like Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio and Cara Maria Sorbello.

The show continues to glorify toxic masculinity and recycled, tiresome competition tropes, pitting these so-called "legends" against each other for a $1 million prize.

How to boycott this patriarchal trash

If, for some reason, you still want to give your views and attention to this archaic display of so-called "entertainment":

MTV is the original broadcaster, but if you have a moral compass and have cut the cord, you can stream it on Hulu, Fubo TV, or Sling TV.
Episodes will also be available to stream on MTV's website and app, but do you really want to boost their online metrics?
Paramount Plus has the last two seasons, but Season 40's arrival is unknown.
