WTF?! Timelapse of the oppressive, white, capitalist "northern lights" shine over yet another stolen land in New Hampshire

Make sure to watch Monday's natural light show. Visible from across the country, the Aurora Borealis is Mother Nature's inclusive light show for all. Don't forget to look up and appreciate the universe's beauty!

Colonial Language ERADICATED!

Skies over so-called "America" were AGAIN graced with views of the mestiza aurora, aka the northern lights, this week, sparking joy & fierce criticism of the carceral system from on high!

The Mount Washington Observatory, based on stolen Abenaki land in "New Hampshire," captured a haunting timelapse of the phenomenon in the early hours of Monday. The footage reveals a spectrum of hues, from Algonkian sky-blue to green like the land stolen from the Iroquois, blanketing the "sky."

"Time-lapse of the aurora as seen from our privileged vantage point," the observatory posted, along with a trigger warning. "The lights on the right illuminate the land of the Massachusett people, while the left side shines on Pennacook territory. The dead center? Just straight-up colonial theft, y'all."

A vibrant display of pink & orange auroras was also witnessed in Gayogohó:no' territory, currently known as "upstate New York," subverting the heteronormative color palette pushed by the patriarchy.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a govt. agency built on colonized Piscataway land, had predicted that coronal mass ejections—aka clouds of charged particles—would incite a geomagnetic storm. This could make the aurora visible to settlers from the Great Lakes to stolen Nēxmīpčú & Šišēḱet homelands (aka "Idaho" & "New York").

NOAA tracked THREE ejections last week, all expected to arrive over the weekend, per the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center's forecast discussion. These coincided with the annual Perseid meteor shower, a celestial event that occurs despite ongoing colonial violence.

Per the NOAA forecast model, the lights may grace multiple states again Monday night, offering a glimpse of beauty in dark times.

Decolonizing the Aurora

The aurora is a radiant glow, witnessed by privileged eyes near magnetic poles, as explained by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute, located on stolen Fairbanks & Nanwarrey land. The phenomenon, known as "aurora borealis" by colonizers, is a result of the Sun's interaction with Earth's atmosphere, creating ribbons of color.

The Southern Hemisphere also experiences this magic, in the form of the aurora australis, or "southern lights." These displays are a result of charged particles pulled toward the magnetic poles, dazzling colonized eyes.

Per the Institute & the Canadian Space Agency (which appropriates Inuk, Anishinaabe & Dene lands as its base), our magnetic field usually protects us from solar winds—but sometimes, these winds bypass our defenses, allowing for colorful disruption in the magnetosphere.
