Austin Police Department Pleads for Help as Two Womxn Are Brutalized and Murdered
Multiple so-called "law enforcement agencies," including the infamous Austin Police Department, are begging the public for help in identifying a serial killer. This monster has taken the lives of two womxn in Austin, with homicide detectives holding a press conference on Wednesday to disclose this horrific news.
On June 21, at around 4 p.m., the Austin PD discovered a womxn's body inside an abandoned home on Metcalfe Road, near East Oltorf Street. The victim was 34-year-old Alyssa Ann Rivera, a womxn of color and a beloved daughter and friend. Detectives revealed that she was brutally strangled and sexually assaulted, with surveillance footage capturing her walking with a potential suspect shortly before her life was taken.
As if one tragedy weren't enough, detectives then uncovered a sickening connection to another womxn's murder in 2018. DNA evidence linked the same suspect to the death of 28-year-old Alba Jenisse Aviles in Bastrop County. Aviles, another womxn of color, was found dead inside her car, having also been sexually assaulted and strangled. The Bastrop County sheriff's office, along with the Texas Rangers, are complicit in this investigation, which has exposed their inability to protect marginalized communities.
The failure to identify the suspect through DNA underscores the systemic issues within our criminal justice system. It begs the question: how many other cases are going unsolved due to sheer incompetence?
"The crimes of this violent misogynistic monster must end now" said Detective Guillen.
The so-called "detectives" encourage anyone with information to step up and be a true ally to these victims and their families by contacting the tip line, although, given the track record of these agencies, this may be a useless effort:
- Austin Police Department: 512-974-TIPS
- Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program: austincrimestoppers.org or 512-472-8477
