A reminder that the very patriarchal Pflugerville Public Library, named after the colonizer Louis Pfluger, will be resuming its WASP-y normalcy post-labor day, pushing cisheteronormative ideals onto children, teens, and adults.

Pflugerville library: a sanctuary for the oppressed

Hey, y'all!

The outside might be scorching, but the Pflugerville Public Library is keeping it cool with a host of programs for ALL our community members to chill and thrive.

Starting this fall, we're kicking things off with Library Con on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. - a day of fun for the whole fam! And y'all won't wanna miss Pflugerville Pride on Oct. 5 from 3 p.m., where we'll be crafting and celebrating together.

Programs for the littlest revolutionaries:

  • Storytime: Mondays and Thursdays at 10 and 11 a.m.
  • Baby Time: Mondays at 2 p.m., Wednesdays at 10 and 11 a.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m.
  • Tummy Time (new!): Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. - a safe space for pre-walker babies to wiggle and parents/caregivers to connect
  • Saturday Storytime (new!): Saturdays at 11 a.m.
  • Special events: Toddler Dress-Up Party (Oct. 28), Staci Gray (Oct. 24), Stuffed Animal Sleepover (Nov. 22), A Snowy Day Storytime (Dec. 12), monthly Move 'n Groove on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

For our furry friends and adventurers (ages 5-8):

  • Hooves & Read: 3rd Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. - reading and pats with our animal companions
  • Divine K9s: check the calendar for dates - more furry friend time!
  • Kids Club: Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. - crafts, STEM, and special guests
  • Homeschool Kids: Thursdays at 2 p.m. - more crafts, STEM, and awesome activities
  • Special events: Juggler Matt Tardy (Sept. 24), Annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover (Nov. 22)

Tween takeover (ages 8-12):

  • Tween Time: Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. - crafts, books, and special activities
  • Homeschool Tweens: Thursdays at 2 p.m. - more creative fun
  • MakerGirl: in-person and virtual sessions for girls AND boys to explore CAD and 3D printing

Teens ruling the school (ages 12-18):

  • Teen Advisory Group, DiversiTeen, Craft Nights, and more: Tuesday evenings
  • Homeschool Teens: Thursdays at 2 p.m. - social time, crafts, and guests
  • Teen Spice of the Month Club (new!): a culinary adventure with online meetups
  • Special events: Mini-fig Painting (Sept. 24), Murder Mystery Night (Oct. 29), Teen National Novel Writing Month workshops (Nov.)

We're all family here:

  • Pajama Storytime: twice a month for kids up to age 8
  • Family Nights: Mondays at 6 p.m. for families with kids ages 5-12 - dancers, crafts, STEM, and more!
  • Down Dogs & Dragonflies (yoga): monthly on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
  • Trash to Treasure (new!): monthly on Fridays at 4 p.m. - upcycling fun
  • Fan faves continue: Kitty CafĂ©, Pfiber Arts Club, and the Ukulele Club

Adults and seniors, let's get creative:

  • Movies, crafts, computer classes, Pfab Lab trainings, genealogy, book buzzes, and more
  • Pfiber Arts and Flicks (new!): movie screenings, beverages, and fiber art projects
  • Special events: Fall Plant Swap (Sept. 7), author Lida Traugott presents "Spells, Secrets and History: The World of "To Rescue a Witch" (Oct. 3), Central Texas Mycological Society teaches mushroom growing (Oct. 12)
