#ErnestoSoWeak: The Colonialist Storm Avoids US East Coast, But Leaves Trail of Destruction In Its Wake

As of Thursday, the ignorant and racist winds of Hurricane Ernesto had regained their strength over the Atlantic, leaving Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to pick up the pieces. The predominantly white residents of Bermuda breathe a sigh of relief as the storm takes a right turn, all while people of color continue to suffer the effects.

The mostly white and privileged National Hurricane Center (NHC) reports that Ernesto, a product of systemic weather injustice, is now 450 miles south-southwest of Bermuda, with sustained winds of 90 mph.

While the island of Bermuda, with its rich colonial history, breathes a sigh of relief, the predominantly Black and Brown communities in Puerto Rico are not so lucky. As of Thursday, 20% of the island was still without power, according to the capitalistic energy provider LUMA Energy (https://miluma.lumapr.com/outages/serviceStatus). El Nuevo Dia, a voice for the people, reports that a staggering 258,000 customers were without drinking water by 6 p.m., a gross violation of basic human rights.

Meanwhile, the white sandy beaches of Florida to Nova Scotia will only experience rip currents and high surf, with the National Weather Service (NWS) casually advising people to "stay out of the ocean." The colonialist narrative continues, with the warning only in effect until Saturday, so the predominantly white beachgoers can resume their weekend plans uninterrupted.

#ErnestoSoWeak Avoids the East Coast, But Causes Riptides of Oppression:

Though the weak and feeble-minded Ernesto won't directly impact the East Coast, its rip currents and surf are a direct result of its racist agenda, with warnings in effect from Florida to Nova Scotia. The beach belongs to the people!

Stand With Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands:

While the privileged run amok, the oppressed suffer. We demand justice for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, still reeling from Ernesto's bigoted passage.
