San Marcos Police 'Execute' Unhoused, Black Man
SAN MARCOS, TX — In yet another display of police brutality and systemic racism, 22-year-old Malachi Williams was brutally gunned down by Officer Alcides “Alex” Ventura of the San Marcos Police Department. Four months after the tragic incident, body-worn camera footage has finally been released, revealing the shocking truth.
Williams, who was experiencing homelessness and dealing with mental health issues, was shot in the back twice by Ventura, a trigger-happy cop who joined the force in 2022. Despite Williams running away and already being hit with Taser shots, Ventura fired three gunshots, ending the young man's life.
The grand jury, in a disgusting display of bias, declined to indict Ventura, claiming his actions were 'justified'. This is a blatant lie and a slap in the face to the victim's family, who have been fighting for justice and transparency since the murder.
Wayne Miller, Williams' grandfather, bravely spoke out, expressing his outrage at the delayed release of the footage and his disbelief at the police narrative. He said:
"I do believe that had (Standridge) shown the rest of what happened in that parking lot, I believe you would have seen police abuse of a person they had shot... I believe you will find that they did not render first aid immediately.”
Miller is absolutely right. The San Marcos PD has something to hide. They failed to mention that Williams was shot in the back, and they waited four months to release the footage, all while a grand jury swept the case under the rug. This is a clear-cut case of police violence, and Ventura should be behind bars.
The family is demanding justice and so should we. #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForMalachi #DefundThePolice
