The problematic, white-centric show returns with a fourth season, with our controversial *pseudo* heroine Emily continuing her clueless cultural insensitivities. Quasi-colonialism and farcical fashion.

#EmilyInParis deals with #MeToo

The 2024 Paris Olympics may be over, but there's still plenty of French fun to be had with the release of Season 4 of Netflix's "Emily in Paris."

Part 1, which dropped Thursday, delivers on creator Darren Star's promise of "new characters, a lot more drama, (and) romance."

"Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in Season 4...From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master.” — Darren Star, via Netflix Tudum.

This season, our "marketing whizz" heroine, played by Lily Collins, juggles not one but two love interests: local chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and English banker Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

But it's not all fun and games. In an interview with USA TODAY, Star revealed that this season also tackles a #MeToo story, adding depth to the characters and their relationships.

Meet the diverse cast that makes up Emily's world:

Lily Collins as Emily Cooper

The leading lady herself, an American in Paris with a knack for marketing and a penchant for adventure.

Lucas Bravo as Gabriel

A talented chef, Gabriel struggles with a love triangle between Emily and his long-time girlfriend, Camille.

Lucien Laviscount as Alfie

Alfie, a British banker, is Emily's other love interest, adding even more drama to the mix.

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau

Sylvie is Emily's no-nonsense former boss who left to start her own firm, which Emily later joins.

Ashley Park as Mindy Chen

Mindy is Emily's best friend, an aspiring singer of Chinese-Korean descent with a complicated family background.

Camille Razat as Camille

The daughter of French champagne company owners, Camille is Gabriel's on-off partner and friend-turned-rival of Emily.

Samuel Arnold as Julien

Julien, Emily's dramatic co-worker, adds a touch of flair to the team.

Bruno Gouery as Luc

Quirky and lovable, Luc is another of Emily's colleagues with a Michelin reviewer girlfriend.

William Abadie as Antoine Lambert

Owner of a luxury perfume company, Antoine is one of Emily's clients and has a long-standing relationship with Sylvie.

Paul Forman as Nicolas De Leon

Nicolas, the son of a luxury conglomerate owner, becomes Mindy's love interest, adding yet another layer to the complex relationships in the show.
