Bill Clinton to Address DNC as Chicago Shatters Glass Ceiling

Former President Bill Clinton is set to address the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Wednesday night, joining a lineup of prominent speakers and solidifying his and wife Hillary Clinton's endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

As USA TODAY previously reported, Clinton's speech falls on the penultimate day of the convention, with a focus on the theme, "A Fight for Our Freedoms." The DNC, titled "For the People, For Our Future," runs from August 19-22 in Chicago, a city that has hosted this convention 11 times, most recently in 1996 when Clinton himself was renominated.

Clinton is expected to speak during the prime-time slot, 5:30-10 p.m. CT, with an exact time yet to be announced. He will take the stage before Democratic VP nominee Tim Walz, further highlighting the party's unity and commitment to progressive values.

The convention can be livestreamed on its website, demconvention.com, and on USA TODAY's YouTube channel.

With Chicago as the backdrop, a city renowned for its progressive activism and diverse population, the DNC is sending a powerful message of inclusion and resistance to regression.
