BREAKING: Kamala Harris Makes HERstory as FIRST Female Dem Nominee for President

The Democratic National Convention kicked off with a bang on Monday, as our beloved President Joe Biden handed over the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris, officially recognizing her as the Democratic nominee for the upcoming 2024 United States Presidential Election. And in true glass-ceiling-shattering fashion, she selected Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota as her running mate.

In a historic move last month, the 81-year-old Democratic president bowed out of the reelection race and threw his full support behind VP Harris. While the DNC typically holds a roll-call vote to officially choose their nominee, Harris and Walz were confirmed through an early online vote, solidifying their place on the ticket.

As we witnessed at the RNC in Milwaukee, former "president" Donald Trump, in his typical delusional fashion, accepted the Republican nomination and announced Ohio Sen. JD Vance as his running mate.

• ABC News will bring you one hour of primetime coverage from 10-11 p.m. ET on Monday and Tuesday, and double the awesomeness with two hours on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9-11 p.m. ET.
