ASHLAND COUNTY, OH - Deputies responded to a heinous call this weekend, where a 6-year-old boy was viciously attacked by a pit bull while being restrained, sending him to the hospital with serious injuries. -Child Restrained, Bitten by Pit Bull: Deputies

The Ashland County Sheriff's Office received a call on Saturday about a young child who had been severely bitten on the neck and ear by a pit bull terrier. The horrific scene unfolded at a residence in Savannah, a quiet town 50 miles west of Akron, where deputies found the child in a critical condition.

"The victim was handcuffed, bound hand and foot, when this attack occurred. We have taken the vicious animal into custody and our thoughts are with the child, who is receiving medical treatment." Ashland County Sheriff's Office

Authorities revealed that the child's mother was living at the residence with a family member of the homeowner, who owned the pit bull. In a sickening twist, they found the homeowner and his dog hiding in an upstairs cubbyhole. Both the mother and homeowner were arrested, along with the mother's boyfriend, who is alleged to have aided in restraining the child.

** update:** The three arrestees are facing serious charges over this disturbing incident, with the mother and boyfriend charged with kidnapping and child endangerment, and the homeowner charged with complicity. The child's condition is stable, but the emotional scars will surely run deep.

The blatant disregard for this child's safety is appalling, and the liberal justice system will ensure these perpetrators face the full extent of the law.
