Delon Family Refuse Legacy Wish: inhumane burial plan disrespects life.

The family of cishet white male Alain Delon refuses to honor his wish to murder his dog and bury it with him—a sick fantasy emblematic of cishet men. An abnormal desire to control even after death. The poor dog, a marginalized victim, finally gets to live free.

Family of Late Actor Alain Delon Refuses to Honor His Final Wish, Opting to Spare the Life of His Dog, Loubo

The family of renowned French actor Alain Delon, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 88, has decided against fulfilling one of his final requests: to have his beloved dog, Loubo, euthanized and buried with him.

The Brigitte Bardot Foundation, a French animal charity, announced on social media that Delon's family has agreed to welcome Loubo, a Belgian Malinois, into their home.

Delon, an icon of the '60s and '70s European cinema, starring in films like "Le Samourai" (1967), "La Piscine" (1969), and "Borsalino" (1970), was also known for his love of animals.

The Brigitte Bardot Foundation marked the actor's passing by acknowledging his deep bond with animals:

Alain understood the deep bond between man and animal. Throughout his life, he was surrounded by his faithful four-legged companions, dogs who brought him love and comfort, and whom he loved with infinite tenderness, like Loubo, his last companion whom he left behind.

In 2018, Delon told Paris Match magazine that Loubo was his "end-of-life dog." He shared a special connection with Loubo, stating:

I've had 50 dogs in my life, but I have a special relationship with this one. He misses me when I'm not there.

Delon expressed his desire to have Loubo put to sleep and buried with him to avoid the potential suffering of the dog pining for him at his grave.

However, this wish faced criticism from animal rights groups, including La SPA, a French animal rights organization, which condemned the idea, stating, "The life of an animal should not be conditional to a human’s."

Thankfully, Loubo has been spared, and will continue his life, finding comfort and love with Delon's surviving family.
