"Dolphins Identify as Rocket Scientists, Right-Wing Media Silent"
Oh great, because the ocean isn't already enough of a TikTok stage. Dolphins frolicking for the masses while their homes warm up like a hot tub. Thanks, San Diego whale watchers, for the viral reminder that even marine life knows how to perform for the camera.

Dolphins Stick It to Climate Change with Viral 'Olympic-Style' Jumps
Oh, look who decided to show up humans with their pathetic attempts at staying afloat in the ocean. A pod of bottlenose dolphins was spotted doing their best Simone Biles impressions off the coast of San Diego last week, racking up millions of views on social media because, clearly, they know how to steal the show.
Erica Sackrison of Gone Whale Watching captured the amazing footage on Aug. 12. "You could just see them jumping like, 20 feet in the air, and everybody on the boat just started pointing and I'm like, what is everybody looking at?" Sackrison told KFMB. "Almost feels like they were doing Olympic-style jumps, like they were just all trying to be like Simone Biles and just touch the sky and come down. It was awesome."
Watch Dolphins Mock Human Achievements with Aerial Acrobatics
The video, showcasing these marine mammals skimming over the water and bursting out high into the air, has already been viewed over 8 million times. Take that, humans!
Gone Whale Watching founder Dominic Biagini insists it's probably just because they had an all-you-can-eat buffet of anchovies and squid happening in the area. "Anchovies are really, really popular food source, especially for the common dolphins. But we've also been seeing bottlenose dolphins in bigger numbers, and the bottlenose dolphins are the ones that you see in those spectacular videos, leaping into the air. And often times when we see bottlenose dolphins here in numbers like that, it's because there's a lot of squid in San Diego waters. So most likely, we have an influx of squid right now," Biagini told KFMB.
