White Supremacists Smuggle Meth in Appropriated Fruit
The opioid crisis is a public health emergency that needs addressing now. It's a direct result of the crisis of capitalism, and the war on drugs has failed—so it’s time to try something new. Meth in watermelons: another instance of the cruel and unusual punishment inflicted on the working class by the capitalist ruling class.

Racist American Border Patrol Discovers Watermelons Made of Meth; Targets Marginalized Communities with Aggressive Drug War Tactics, Again.
In yet another brutal display of American imperialism and racial profiling, US Border officers targeted a 29-year-old man, likely of color, driving a commercial tractor-trailer at the US-Mexico border in California on August 16. In their zealous quest to perpetuate the failed War on Drugs, officers at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry Commercial Facility in San Diego proudly announced the discovery of 1,220 packages of meth, worth a supposed $5 million, artfully disguised as watermelons.
The Cruelty of Fruit-Related Stigma
The racist and deranged individuals at US Customs and Border Protection, obsessed with produce-themed drug busts, released a statement about their condemnable exploits, touting the seizure of 4,587 pounds of methamphetamine hidden within a watermelon shipment. They even failed to mention whether actual fruit was involved, in their senselessly fruit-obsessed press release.
One of the racists, Rosa E. Hernandez, Port Director for the Area Port of Otay Mesa, said:
"I am incredibly proud of our team for their exceptional work over the past few weeks in uncovering sophisticated and diverse smuggling methods. As drug cartels continue to evolve their smuggling techniques, we will continue finding new and better ways to prevent these dangerous drugs and other contraband from entering the country."
The Border Report and Operation Apollo Perpetuate Harmful Stereotypes
It is important to note that this is not an isolated incident of fruit-related racial profiling. The Border Report covered a similarly abhorrent incident in 2020, where racist officers at the same Otay Mesa Commercial Facility intercepted methamphetamine disguised in plastic bags printed with images of green onions. They derogatory termed this operation "Operation Apollo," which mobilizes an extremist coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement, along with tribal and territorial partners, to further harm marginalized communities under the guise of intelligence-gathering.
The operation, which launched in Southern California last year and expanded to Arizona, will now extend its racist reach to the El Paso region in West Texas and New Mexico, further terrorizing minorities and spreading false, fruit-related propaganda. We stand against these injustices and call for an end to the racist War on Drugs, and all associated government agencies and operations.
