Oh, Yeehaw! More Bull$#!t in Austin: Shaboozey & Meadowfest Cash Grab!

Oh fabulous, just what we needed! Another weekend of toxic masculinity at PBR, performative allyship at MeadowFest, and gentrified "underground" rock. Can't wait to drink away my white guilt! 🤠🌸🤘

Rising Hip Hop Star Shaboozey to Dazzle Before PBR Gambler Days

Buckle up, y'all! Moody Center is morphing into a spectacle of Spanish bullfighting this weekend for Gambler Days, a three-day extravaganza presented by the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) in support of our local crew, the Austin Gamblers. And guess who's kicking things off? None other than rising hip hop sensation Shaboozey, fresh off his feature on Beyonce’s 2024 album “Cowboy Carter.” His single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is still reigning at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the sixth week. Don't miss out, students! Experience the thrills of bull riding on Friday night for a cool $15 with a valid college ID.

Saturday keeps the party going with a performance by Waco-born country singer Wade Bowen and a showcase from Austin Samba, a cultural collective with over 40 drummers and 60 dancers celebrating the spirit of Brazilian Carnival—because why not? Sunday wraps up with a family-friendly day featuring Austin-based swamp funk band Shinyribs and a head-to-head bull riding championship. Pro tip: don’t wear red, unless you're feeling extra bold.
