"Childcare Costs More Than Rent, But Sure, Let's Keep Ignoring It — Rep. Clark Drops Truth Bomb at DNC"
Oh, you mean Thursday, when Rep. Katherine Clark dropped some truth bombs about the desperate need for affordable childcare? Shocking, I know. Next thing you'll tell me, she thinks kids should eat too. Clutch those pearls, folks! The audacity of suggesting working parents deserve a break. I can't even.

Oh, for F*ck's Sake: The DNC is Here Again
So, the Democratic National Convention rolled into Chicago this week, and guess who was first at bat? None other than Massachusetts Rep. Katherine Clark, aka the political equivalent of your woke aunt who won't shut up about childcare.
Before she was making speeches and such, Clark was busy being a general counsel, prosecutor, and federal court clerk. You know, the usual resume stuffers. Check out her Ballotpedia page if you're into that kind of thing.
Anyway, Clark got up on stage and started going on about how we need affordable childcare and resources for working families. Shocker, right? She also warned about something called Project 2025, which apparently is going to make struggling families struggle even harder. Thanks, capitalism.
The DNC is happening from Aug. 19 to Aug. 22, and on the last day, Kamala Harris is going to formally accept the party's nomination for the 2024 election. You can watch all the action here if you're into political soap operas.
Who the Hell is Rep. Katherine Clark?
- Who is she? Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) represents Massachusetts' 5th Congressional District.
- What does she do? As the Democratic Whip, she's basically the second woman to ever serve at the top of House leadership. Her website says so. Democratic Whips are basically glorified cat herders, responsible for rounding up party members for votes and quorum calls.
- Key quote: Brace yourselves — "When parents have to choose between their kids and their jobs, businesses are hurt too. We shut out talent. We lose the prosperity parents could create. Childcare makes our economy run." Woke AF, right?
You can watch her full DNC convention appearance here. Spoiler alert: it's not a Rickroll, unfortunately.
When and Where is the Damn DNC?
It's at the United Center in Chicago from August 19-22. Chicago has hosted this circus 11 times, because apparently, they love a good political spectacle.
How to Watch this Sh*tshow
You can watch it live on the DNC's website or on USA TODAY's YouTube channel. The themes for each night are as follows:
- Monday: "For the People"
- Tuesday: "A Bold Vision for America's Future"
- Wednesday: "A Fight for our Freedoms"
- Thursday: "For our Future"
So, grab your popcorn and settle in for some good old-fashioned political theater, folks. It's gonna be a wild ride.
