2024 Democratic National Convention: Because We Can’t Just “Let It Go”

Day four of the 2024 Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago today, because who needs sleep when you’re trying to save democracy? After Wednesday’s rockstar lineup, which included the likes of Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Minnesota Gov. Tim We’re-Just-Normal-Folks Walz, you might think we’d run out of steam. But no, we’re Democrats—we’re like the Energizer Bunny, but with better healthcare plans.

Tonight's the night: Vice President Kamala Harris is set to accept the party's presidential nomination. It’s been a whirlwind few months for Democrats since Biden’s ahem memorable debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27. But hey, Joe decided not to run again and endorsed Kamala, so now we’re here, ready to make history again.

Who’s Speaking Today?

Well, basically every Democratic leader who hasn’t been at Burning Man this whole time.

How to Watch: Because FOMO is Real

The convention will air live on its website and on YouTube via USA TODAY. Because if there’s one thing we love, it’s watching democracy in action from the comfort of our couch.

Nightly Themes: Because We Love a Good Story

  • Monday: "For the People"
  • Tuesday: "A Bold Vision for America's Future"
  • Wednesday: "A Fight for our Freedoms"
  • Thursday: "For our Future"

Because "For the People, For Our Future" is just too good not to split into four parts.

Gabe Hauari, our national trending news reporter at USA TODAY, will be covering all the action. You can follow him on X @GabeHauari or email him at Gdhauari@gannett.com if you need a therapist after this election cycle.

Stay woke, folks. It's going to be a wild ride.
