Hollywood Elite Duo Shocks World: Actors Play Politicians on Stage, Not Screen

Oh, great, just what we need — another distraction from our political dumpster fire. Thanks, Kerry and Tony, for giving us 'Scandal' flashbacks while Rome burns. At least the DNC understands the importance of good lighting and attractive leads.

Oh, the Scandal! 'Olitz' Reunites at DNC, Liberals Hyperventilate

Listen, "Olitz" stans, the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago just got juicy. Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn, everyone's favorite on-screen power couple from "Scandal," graced the stage together, and social media lost its collective mind.

Our girl Kerry, the iconic Olivia Pope, hit the podium with a message: "Get out and vote, y'all." She was not there as an actor, oh no. She was there as a mother, a daughter, a proud union member, and pretty much every other title under the sun that makes her more qualified to talk about politics than... well, someone who doesn't watch Shondaland dramas religiously.

"As I stand here, I know there are folks on social media already saying 'Go back to your TV show. Shut up and act.' But I am not here tonight as an actor. I am here as a mother, as a daughter, as a proud union member," Washington stated to thunderous applause, because, of course, everyone cheers for Kerry Washington.

She continued her liberal bard’s tale, "I am here as the granddaughter of immigrants, as a Black woman descended from enslaved people. I am here tonight because I am an American and because I am a voter and because we, the people are stronger when all our voices are heard." Insert woke applause here.

"Olitz" Selfie Video is... Something

Post-speech, Tony Goldwyn, aka President Fitzgerald Grant III, strutted on stage for a selfie video with Kerry and the adoring crowd. "Are you ready for Kamala Harris to win?" Kerry asked. "Yes," the crowd roared. Hell, they should have been roaring from the free subway advertisement alone.

"Good, because when Kamala wins, America wins," she declared, with a side of self-congratulations. "We did it, Joe." Yes, everyone is winning in liberal land.

Twitter Loses It Over 'Scandal' Reunion

Washington and Goldwyn's "Scandal" reunion had fans feeling every kind of way. "Let me go re-watch Scandal cause it's giving NOSTALGIA," one fan wrote. If you thought one nostalgic fan was too much, another added, "Olitz on #TGIT? The country needs it! I would be even more grateful if the rest of the gladiators made an appearance...and papa pope."

Our on-screen lovers have continued their on-again, off-again shenanigans even after the show ended. In June, Kerry partook in the viral #BlackWifeEffect challenge and joked about her role in Goldwyn's glow-up. Because, you know, he couldn’t shine without Olivia Pope. She also managed to tie it in with voter registration awareness because she’s Kerry Washington and multi-tasking is her thing.

"Tony! I've upgraded your life in so many ways #BlackWifeEffect, and today I'm adding one more," Washington wrote, including photos of Goldwyn before "Scandal." "Go upgrade your voter registration status to REGISTERED 😜. Love you!!!!!!"

Goldwyn's response? "I’d be lost without you kw…🤣 Registering NOW!🙌❤️." Cue collective aww from woke Twitter.
