It's that time of year again when hordes of humans descend upon state fairs across the U.S. to partake in rickety rides, gawk at adorable animals, engage in cutthroat competitions, and—most importantly—dive headfirst into a deep-fried food coma.

State fair foods, because nothing says "America" like a hearty dose of oil and deep fryers. The weirder, the better, amirite? I mean, deep-fried Oreos and Twinkies are practically national treasures at this point.
