Miranda Lambert Graces Austin with Free Show, Capitalism Takes a Nap

Listen up, Austin! Miranda Lambert, Longview's finest, is gracing us with her presence for a free—yes, you heard right, FREE—show at Stubb's BBQ this Friday. She's been cooped up at Arlyn Studios recording her latest album, "Postcards From Texas," and now she's giving us a sneak peek before the official release on Sept. 13.

Lambert dropped the news on her social media early Friday morning, because who needs sleep when you can have Miranda?

How do I get my capitalism-defying ticket?

Wristbands will be handed out starting at noon, first-come, first-served. Only one per person, so don't get greedy. Once they're gone, they're gone. Stubb's downstairs bar capacity is 150, with an extra 60 upstairs.

"Please be careful as it’s HOT in Austin right now," Lambert's Instagram post warned. So, bring your sunscreen and hydrate, folks!

Need a break from the heat (and reality)? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and Miranda takes the stage at 6. Don't be late, or you'll miss out on the best thing Austin's seen since someone invented breakfast tacos.
