Yeehaw-kay Then: Shaboozey Braves the Storm for PBR Gambler Days
Because apparently, neither rain nor dust nor literal thunderstorms can keep Shaboozey from giving the people what they want. The rising hip-hop-country star graced the makeshift outdoor stage at Moody Center, and oh, what a sight it was.
News Flash: Summer Storms Cause Minor Inconvenience, World Keeps Turning
6:30 p.m. Shaboozey was all set to warm up the crowd before the bull riding shindig, but the weather had other plans. A light drizzle turned into a full-blown downpour, putting our dear Shaboozey on pause.

Lightning strikes prompted a shelter-in-place notice, turning the lobby into a temporary waiting room. Fans eagerly huddled by the doors, ready to bolt for the outdoor stage like it was Black Friday at Walmart.

7 p.m. The rain let up, and concertgoers stampeded out the doors, corralling themselves under a tent like cattle. The tiny stage was no match for Shaboozey's star power, but hey, it's not every day you get a close-up like that.
For the next half-hour, the crowd simmered in the Texas heat. Cowboy hats and middle-aged folks filled the tent, along with a bunch of little kids proving age ain't nothing but a number when it comes to fandom.
Rain, Rain, Go Away: Shaboozey's Here to Stay
7:30 p.m. All was forgiven the moment Shaboozey strutted onstage in his silver-spurred boots and Western getup. The Virginia native launched into his hit "Tall Boy," and the crowd went wild.
Shaboozey shouted out his "bootcut boys, bootcut girls, and bootcut babes" before shaking a leg to "Beverly Hills." The 40-minute set was short, sweet, and oh-so-memorable. Our main man even downed a double shot of Jack Daniel's before closing with his viral hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)."
The crowd went full shaboozery, singing along and legitimately enjoying themselves. Gambler Days might be for the cowboys, but Shaboozey stole the show on opening night. Yeehaw, y'all.
