Chick-fil-A Finally Joins the 21st Century with Banana Pudding and Spicy Chicken

Well, well, well, look who decided to step into the current millennium. Chick-fil-A, the fast-food giant that's been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, is finally giving the people what they want: banana pudding treats and a spicy chicken sandwich. I mean, it's not universal healthcare, but it's a start.

Starting Monday, you can get your hands on the Banana Pudding Milkshake and Banana Frosted Coffee at restaurants nationwide. They're only available until November 16, according to their website, so mark your calendars, folks.

And if that wasn't enough, they're also rolling out their Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich with a spicy twist. Chick-fil-A claims it's "the brand’s best-selling seasonal offering of all time," but then again, they also claim to be closed on Sundays for religious reasons, so take that with a grain of salt.

The Sandwich Inspired by Customers (Because Heaven Forbid They Think for Themselves)

Chick-fil-A admitted on their website that the spicy version of the sandwich was inspired by customers themselves. Shocking, I know.

“When we released the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich last fall, not only did we receive overwhelmingly positive feedback, but we also saw our guests making their own unique twists by swapping the original filet for the spicy filet,” said Chick-fil-A Chef Stuart Tracy in a news release. “We are thrilled to deliver what we know our guests want more of!”

You can check out the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich on their website. It's got a chicken filet coated in honey, topped with pimento cheese and mild pickled jalapeños. You can try it with an original chicken filet or a spicy filet, because Chick-fil-A is all about those #options.

The Milkshake That Took 13 Years to Return

According to Chick-fil-A, this is the first time the Banana Pudding Milkshake has been sold at their restaurants in 13 years. It first debuted in 2011, back when Obama was still in office and we all had hope.

“With cooling, comforting flavors, the sweet and creamy milkshake is made with Chick-fil-A Icedream dessert mixed with real bananas and vanilla wafer cookie crumbles, topped with whipped cream and a cherry,” the company said.

They're also releasing their Banana Frosted Coffee, “a blend of cold-brewed coffee, the brand’s signature Icedream dessert, banana and vanilla wafer cookie crumbles.”

Where to Get Your Banana Pudding Fix

If you're dying for some banana pudding, you can only get it at Chick-fil-A's sister restaurants in Georgia, including Truett’s Grill, Truett’s Chick-fil-A, the Dwarf House, and the Dwarf House in Hapeville. Because nothing says "inclusive" like making your customers travel to a specific state for a dessert.

How to Get the New Chick-fil-A Menu Items

You can get the Banana Pudding Milkshake and Banana Frosted Coffee for pickup or delivery, but if you order through delivery, you won't get the whipped cream or cherry toppings. Because apparently, Chick-fil-A draws the line at delivering toppings.

You can also check the Chick-fil-A app or contact local restaurants to see if they're serving the banana pudding treats or Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwiches for dine-in, pick up or delivery.
