Oh fabulous, another senseless slaughter in Suburbia Paradise.
Oh, fantastic, just what we needed—another championship performance of the 'Murder-Suicide Show' in the quiet suburbs of Long Island. Nothing like a good old-fashioned 'family values' massacre to stir up the neighborhood. Bravo, patriarchy, bravo!

In a shocking display of toxic masculinity and probable privilege, a 59-year-old man allegedly killed his siblings and niece in their childhood home before dramatically turning the gun on himself on the front lawn, because apparently, even family reunions can be deadly when mixing gun access and TV dramas.
On Sunday at 11:58 a.m., police showed up at a house in Syosset, New York, after reports of gunshots, thanks to the Nassau County Police Department's timely response. Surprise, surprise, they found a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest because nothing says "family gathering" like bullet holes.
But wait, there's more! Police later discovered four victims with multiple gunshot wounds in the back of the house. You know, just the kind of thing that happens in a "bedroom community."
"(In) 41 years, that is probably one of the most horrific scenes I've ever seen," said Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, giving us that reality check we never asked for, as reported by Fox 5 New York.
Fatal Family Reunion: Suspect and Victims Identified
The alleged killer was identified as Joseph Delucia, giving new meaning to the term "family values." The victims, all his relatives because apparently genetic connections are now risk factors, were:
- Joann Kearns, 69, sister, who lived in Tampa, Florida
- Frank Delucia, 64, brother, who lived in Durham, North Carolina
- Tina Hamnond, 64, another sister, who lived in East Patchogue, New York
- Victoria Hamnond, 30, Hamnond's daughter and the suspect's niece, also from East Patchogue.
USA TODAY reached out to the Nassau County Police Department for more info because, you know, journalism.
Neighbors Shocked (Because Duh)
Neighbors were beyond shocked at the events, according to reports from News 4 and Fox 5 New York.
"This is really heartbreaking. This is such a quiet little neighborhood they used to call it a bedroom community. It’s shocking," a neighbor told Fox 5, because nothing screams "quiet" like gun violence.
Timely Real Estate Chat
The matriarch, Theresa Martha DeLucia, passed away just a week prior, according to News 4. They were apparently chatting about potentially selling the home, which ended with a literal bang, thanks to Fox 5 New York for that plot twist.
