Oh, Really? Congress Just Now Figuring Out They Should ‘Peacefully’ Certify Election?
Oh, yeah, sure—because "respecting democratic institutions" and "upholding election results" really worked out for us in 2016.

Brace Yourselves, America: Congress Might Actually Have to Do Their Job in 2024
Oh, boy, where do I even start? As an activist and Courage for America council member in the (sometimes) great city of Austin, I want to drop a truth bomb: my vote matters. Shocking, I know. But you know what else matters? Not trashing our democratic institutions like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
Remember January 6, 2021? The day when the former Cheeto-in-Chief and his MAGA minions in Congress peddled the "Big Lie" about the 2020 election like it was the hottest new conspiracy theory on Facebook? Yeah, that little stunt ended up with over 140 police officers injured and the Capitol looking like a scene from a low-budget apocalypse movie. And what did some members of Congress do? They turned their backs on the Constitution faster than a Kardashian changes outfits.
I was horrified. Shocked. But mostly just fed up with the utter nonsense. As we countdown to January 6, 2025, I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that Congress will grow a spine and commit to the traditional certification process. You know, the one where they just sit there and validate the people's choice without trying to burn down democracy?
So, buckle up, America. We'll be watching Congress like hawks, ready to call out any shenanigans. Let's hope they can handle the responsibility of, you know, actually doing their job.
Don Foote, Austin
