Oh, for Fudge's Sake, Austin! Can't Take Your Eyes off Your Screens for a Sec? APD Says "Bye-Bye, iPhones"
Oh, brilliant! While festival-goers were enjoying the music, Austin's finest were busy with a weekend bonanza of busts and reports. Because nothing says "live music capital of the world" like 70 offense reports and 225 calls. Way to keep it real, ACL.

Breaking: Capitalist Shenanigans at ACL Fest!
Well, well, well, look who's been busy! Austin's finest (AKA the police) had a blast at Zilker Park during the first weekend of ACL Fest, arresting two troublemakers and taking a whopping 70 offense reports. Way to make an entrance, guys! APD's data doesn't lie.
So, what did these rebel rousers do? Mostly, they were "reported" for nicking stuff, mainly cellphones. 42 out of 44 stolen items were phones. I guess people just can't live without their precious selfie machines. One arrest was for a runner (evading on foot), and the other was a special request. VIP treatment, maybe?
APD's pro tip to avoid being a target: Secure your phones and keep your bags zipped. Groundbreaking, right? If you're one of the unlucky ones, report your theft (after you've stopped actively sobbing) at ireportaustin.com or call Austin 311.
ACL Fest's Lost & Found: A Beacon of Hope
Did you drop something while sprinting to see that hot new band? Fear not! ACL Fest has a lost-and-found. Visit the main Guest Services booth during festival hours or check out aclfestival.liff.app. You can even register beforehand at aclfestival.liff.app/#/protect/register so they can contact you if your stuff turns up.
Post-fest, the Guest Services booth (on William Barton Drive, near Barton Springs Road) will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. So, if you've lost your dignity (or just your wallet), there's still hope!
